Parting Shots
Greetings! Its been awhile!... I am writing you today as DEMA is fast approaching and as we are all hustling to get our packages and our marketing materials done for the coming shows, I want to make sure I touch bas with you before DEMA comes around.
In any case let me update you on whats been happening at Aiyanar over the pas year and some improvements we’ve made to the facility and adjustments were making to the staff.
The biggest improvement so far is that Aiyanar has built 8 more rooms, to accomodate our existing demand and to plan for future demands. The construction of the 8 rooms brings bringing our room total to 24 now from the previous 16. The 8 new rooms were built on the hill behind the main building and have their own balconies and great views of the ocean. These rooms are actually bigger than our De Luxe Rooms and they all have 2 Queen sized beds each.
We have also built some balinese style huts on the elevated portion of our garden complete with hammocks and cushions for those times of the day when guests just want to lay around. A welcome plus to the Relaxing and extremely spacious ambience of aiyanar.
In the dive shop; we have increased our Nitrox Blending capacity to double of what it was earlier in the year, and the reason for this was during the big Alex Mustard Workshop we fell short on Nitrox tanks on the last day of diving and the only solution our compressor tech came up with was to add a second low pressure compressor to increase our nitrox output. Seeing as recreational diving now views nitrox as a necessity rather than the specialty that it used to be the increase in capacity seemed like a good idea.
This september Aiyanar closed its doors for ten days of general maintenance and repair work(sort of like our dry docking period). Alot of the comments and suggestions we got were dealt with; as well as retraining for the Staff and Crews. All offcourse in the direction of our goal; to be the Premier Under Water Imaging Resort and Dive Center in Asia's Fastest Growing Macro Photography Destination.
As we close out the year we look back and were grateful that our efforts have been recognized by some of the Industry's Photography personalities and we have had the honor of hosting their Underwater Photography workshops.
In 2014 Aiyanar hosted the following events;
1). Michael Aw and Matthew Mieur for OG's Master Class Workshop
2). Dr Alex Mustard and the Reef Photo and Video Team for their Photo- Intensive Macro Workshop which had 33 participants and 5 instructors.
3). Aaron Wong and Aaron's Photocraft's "the Art of Lighting" workshop for SeaCam China.
